The Aquaculture Association of Nova Scotia along with the Nova Scotia Department of Advanced Education is pleased to sponsor a three part training program for AANS shellfish operators. This program consists of classroom training in shellfish aquaculture productivity and HACCP risk analysis, as well as individualized training sessions on standard operating procedure development, risk analysis and risk control plan development. Classroom training sessions are scheduled for November. Individualized training will be scheduled through the winter.

Shellfish Productivity Training

Invited speakers from various disciplines and backgrounds will provide practical information regarding shellfish aquaculture site carrying capacity, biofouling and invasive species management, vibrio management, site biomass estimation, water quality monitoring, farm operations, and seafood certification.

This training opportunity is appropriate for all scales of production and all levels of technical knowledge. There is no limit to the number of employees that can attend but space is limited so please reserve your place(s) today.

The sessions are free of charge, and mileage will be paid at 20cents/km. Lunch is provided.
