2019 Aquaculture Association of Nova Scotia Student Scholarship
On January 24th & 25th 2019, the AANS will host its annual Sea Farmers Conference at the Halifax Hotel, formerly Delta Halifax. The AANS is calling for post-secondary students to submit a short abstract of their project related to the aquaculture industry to be considered for presentation during the 2019 Sea Farmers Conference. Eligible projects will be then invited (limited space) to present their work in the format of a poster that will be displayed during the conference. Also, from those that wish to be considered, 3 finalists will be selected to present their work (7 minutes oral presentation, followed by 1 min question period) to the delegates on Thursday, January 24th, 2019.

Aquaculture Association of Nova Scotia Student Scholarship 2019
The AANS Board of Directors has committed to develop a new scholarship program to continue our support for Nova Scotia students, in particular, (Post-secondary students studying in Nova Scotia who are conducting projects related to aquaculture in support of the AANS mission statement (any field, e.g. marine science, social science, engineering, etc.)
For 2019, through an initial anonymous $1,000 donation, we are thrilled to be able to continue this worthwhile program, and we’re looking for your support through donations to our 2019 “Silent Auction” in build this program for our students for years to come. The auction items could be through product donations, prize donations or services that we will auction off during the conference. The money raised will go into a specific scholarship fund dedicated to continuing this annual program for students. The silent auction sheets will be on display from the President’s Reception on Wed. night, January 23, right through to the Thursday night Moules &Frites reception. The student winners will be announced at the Friday morning R&D discussion forum. The winners of the silent auction prizes will be announced during the “Moules & Frites” reception on Thursday night at the Delta Halifax Hotel. The student posters will be on display during the entire conference, and we will have three student presentations (finalists) during specific times during the conference agenda. There are two student prizes, ($1,000 for best presentation, and $500 for best poster). see attached certificates
